A wonderful and charming spot in Hamburg with Slow Food at its best.
Already knowing and loving the Mutterland coffee shop near the central station, where I regularly pay a visit for a delicious organic breakfast, I discovered Mutterland Delikatessen unexpectedly.
The atmosphere is welcoming, modern with a link to old fashioned food stores. Jams and delicious honeys, from fine and handmade chocolates and old-fashioned candies to fruit brandies of passionate master distillers, an own tea and coffee line and dairy products from organic farms, Mutterland offers the entire range of local delicacies and food.
Here you can pick up German favourites such as Königsberger Klopse, a fresh pea soup or Hermann's organic liverwurst for your supper sandwich.
Another focus is on the daily fresh salads & sandwiches, cakes & desserts, soups and traditional home-cooked food for consumption on site and on the road, which are freshly prepared according to traditional recipes. All presented in a pleasing and lovely interior.
A retail concept for food, that was missing in Germany. This is the German answer to Dean & Deluca.
